Feeling Like Moses

I had my first official book signing Friday January 15, 2010. I am still in a state of awe that I was actually at a book signing-signing copies of my book! If someone would have told me two years ago that I would write a book, I would have laughed at them.

I was an average student in school. While I loved reading, writing was not an area of strength for me. I did not plan to write a book but God apparently had a plan and I am going along for the ride. It’s not about me or my story. It’s all about God and how He can take the puzzle pieces of our life put them together and use all of our "stuff" for His glory.  Nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37).

I still find myself saying to God "are you sure God? "Really God, you can use ME?” I feel a bit like Moses did, he did not feel qualified for the purpose God had for him. Moses had guilt and shame in his past (Exodus 2:12-15), he had doubt (Exodus 3:12, 4:1), Moses did not feel he was qualified to lead or speak (Exodus 4:10), and in spite of all of this God continued to affirm, use, and lead Moses. I am no where near Moses status but I do understand his shame, guilt and doubt.

I have no idea what God's ultimate plan and purpose is for this book and the ministry that is being birthed through it. I do know I want to trust and not lean on my own understanding. I want to spread the good news of the Gospel and tell everyone who is wearing a Scarlet Cord of guilt, shame, and fear that they can "exchange" it for a Scarlet Cord of Hope!

There is always HOPE!

  1. Sheryl, I just finished reading your book! I couldn't put it down! I knew I loved you when I met you- now I know why- you and I have a lot in common- the best part is we have the same love for our Lord in common. You offer hope to the hurting with your book and I love that you say it is NEVER too late to start receiving the healing that God desires for His children! I pray many will read this book and gain HOPE that leads to their journey of healing and wholeness!
    Love and Blessings,
