31 Days of Hope Day 19

Yesterday we talked about the letter O in HOPE and O is for over analyzing. Today we will focus on the letter P.

The letter P in HOPE is for Persevere. We must persevere in hope.  As I have said before, as long as there is breathe, there is hope! There are many examples in the Bible of those who persevered in their hope. Just to name a few;  Esther, Ruth & Naomi, Rahab, Moses, Joshua, Joseph, Deborah, Samuel, Daniel, Meshack, Shadrack & Abendigo, Paul, James, Mary, the disciples, the blind man, the leper, Jarirus, and of course the One who preserved in hope and continues to do so to this day, Jesus Christ. The list could go on and on as there are many examples of those who have persevered with hope.

The word persevere means to persist in something; maintain a purpose in spite of difficulty, obstacles, or discouragement; to continue steadfastly. As Christians we must preserver in our faith and relationship with Jesus. The world is full of things to take our time and attention from persevering in our hope and faith. To persevere we must be intentional. We must be ready and willing.

Here are some scriptures for you to hold onto when you need encouragement to continue persevering in your HOPE!

Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial James 1:12 a

Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer  Romans 12:10-12

For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Romans 15:4

For nothing will be impossible with GodLuke 1:37

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.  Hebrews 10:23

  1. We have all hoped for things throughout our lives. As children, maybe the new bike or doll. As teens, for the special girl or boy to like us. As adults that perfect job or new home. But have you ever come to a place where you felt like there was no hope? I have. I cried out to the God of all hope. He heard me and he will hear you too. Call out to him in truth and faith. He loves you and is forever faithful.
